The Docket — Leather Zip Portfolio
The Docket is a zippered full-grain leather portfolio for depositions, intake, and any meeting where you're likely to leave holding more than you arrived with — a signed original, a second file, marked exhibits.
- Full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather
- Three-sided zip closure
- Document gusset, device sleeve, and card gallery
- Carry handle
- Handcrafted in Kolkata, India
- Available in Black and Warm Brown
Where a padfolio is built to be slim and quick, a portfolio is built to hold what you didn't walk in with. The zip closes on three sides so nothing slides out en route, and the interior gusset and device sleeve keep loose documents and a tablet or thin laptop organized rather than loose in your arms.
Deciding between this and something slimmer? Read Padfolio, or Portfolio? for the full comparison.
If speed matters more than capacity — a quick check-in or a courtroom appearance where you want one free hand — see The Brief instead.
Questions we get
Will it hold what I leave the room with? Yes, and that is what it is built for. The zip closes on three sides, so a signed original or a set of marked exhibits cannot slide out on the way to the car, and the document gusset takes the second file you did not expect to be handed.
Does it carry a device? Yes — there is a dedicated device sleeve for a tablet or a thin laptop, alongside the documents rather than instead of them, plus a card gallery for what you hand across the table.
Is there a handle? Yes. It carries by hand as well as under an arm, which matters when you are leaving with more than you arrived with.
The Docket or The Brief? The Docket when the meeting is a deposition or an intake and the paper travels both ways; The Brief when you want a slim, snap-closed case and one free hand. We argue it in Padfolio, or Portfolio?
Who makes it, and how is it guaranteed? We do — designed to our specification and made for us alone, handcrafted in Kolkata in full-grain vegetable-tanned leather, in Black or Warm Brown, under the Barrister & Bespoke Five-Year Limited Warranty.
In design and manufacture — final photography will be added ahead of our Fall 2026 launch.
Barrister & Bespoke House Collection — designed to our specification, made for us alone, and named for the terms of art of the practice. A house piece carries our name because we are answerable for it: the leather, the hardware, and the decisions behind both are ours to defend rather than a maker's to explain. Our Curated Collection and our Essentials are marked separately throughout the shop.
Warranty. This Product carries the Barrister & Bespoke Five-Year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Full terms are stated in our Warranty Policy.
