Will it take a legal pad? Yes — it is sized for a standard letter-size legal pad, which sits in the interior pad holder rather than sliding loose.

Does it zip? No, and that is deliberate. The Brief closes on a snap: one motion open, one motion shut, with nothing to unzip at counsel table and nothing to fumble through a metal detector. If you want a case that zips shut around a file, that is The Docket.

How much does it actually carry? A pad, three cards and one pen. That is the entire specification, and it is the point — this is the case for the quick client check-in and the courtroom appearance, where speed and a free hand matter more than capacity.
