The Brief padfolio takes a letter-size legal pad, three cards and a pen behind a snap closure — one motion open, one motion shut, with nothing to unzip at counsel table and nothing to fumble at a metal detector. It is the case for the quick check-in and the courtroom appearance, where speed and a free hand matter more than capacity.
The Docket zip portfolio is the answer when you expect to leave holding a signed original, a second file or marked exhibits. The zip closes on three sides so nothing slides out in transit, and a document gusset, device sleeve and card gallery keep paper and a tablet in order rather than loose in your arms.

When the order of the exhibits matters more than the capacity, the Joy in the Morning binder portfolio is the third answer: a four-ring mechanism at the spine, so punched documents mount in the order you chose the night before and turn like pages — deposition exhibits, a closing checklist, a client's signature set, opened at the right page rather than shuffled for. The rings are four rather than the usual American three, and four is the better mechanism for what a practice files. Four points of purchase across the same page edge put less load on each hole, and an exhibit set pulled, passed down a table and re-filed a dozen times tears out of four rings far later than out of three.
