Sliding Ashtray with Hidden Humidor

Two instruments in one object, for the chambers or the study where the cigar is actually smoked: a sliding cigar bed conceals a built-in humidor beneath it, so a small working supply lives where it is used rather than across the room.

Two-tone dark Brazilian wood and black lacquer. Stores five to seven cigars.

The compartment holds five to seven cigars, which is a week rather than a collection — season it and treat it as the working supply, not as storage. Our Field Guide No. 07 has the protocol. Where the rest of the cigars live is the Onyx. For an ashtray without a compartment to maintain, see the Saint Lucia.

Barrister & Bespoke Essentials — a working humidor, cutter, or ashtray, stocked because the ritual needs one and this one does the job. Essentials are chosen for function and value rather than for the maker's name. Our Curated Collection and our house pieces are marked separately throughout the shop.

Questions we get

How many cigars does the hidden compartment hold? Five to seven, beneath the sliding bed, with a humidifier included.

Is it a substitute for a humidor? No, and we would rather you knew that before it arrives. This holds a small working supply where it is actually smoked; a desk-scale climate for a collection is a different object, and those are in Humidors.

How much room does it need? Thirteen and a half inches wide by five and three quarters deep, and only two and a quarter high — it sits on a side table or a desk corner rather than dominating either.

What is it made of? Two-tone dark Brazilian wood with a black lacquer finish, which is why it suits a desk that already runs to warmer materials.

Do the cigars in the photographs come with it? No. Those are for illustration only — your own selections have surely already rested their case.
