S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Lighter — Diamond Head, Palladium
The S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Diamond Head in palladium is the classic soft-flame lighter with the maison's guilloché cut over every face — rows of small pyramids that catch light the way a plain plated body cannot. It is the Ligne 2 for counsel who would rather the object wore its work on the outside.
The pattern is the one the maison calls its diamond head, on cap and body alike, with the plain band across the middle left smooth for the signature. Underneath it is the same lighter as the lacquered Ligne 2: 2.4 by 1.5 inches, 4.6 ounces, a hinged cap, a roller flint and a soft yellow flame. The cap is plated rather than lacquered, so the ring on opening is closer to the Perfect Ping's than the lacquered models manage.
A soft flame toasts a cigar slowly and evenly indoors and lights a cigarette without ceremony. In wind it is at a disadvantage, and a torch does that job. It takes the maison's yellow gas refill and black flints, and ships empty.

Exhibit B — The maker's film
Two minutes thirty-seven, shot in the Faverges workshop, captions theirs. The hallmark is struck at 0:22 and the lacquer goes on at 0:54; the flame is tested at 1:58. That is most of what you are paying for. It is the last item in the gallery above.
Questions we are asked
Does the pattern make it harder to keep clean? No more than any plated lighter. The maison's care advice is a soft cloth and nothing solvent-based; the guilloché hides fingerprints better than a polished flat.
How is this different from the Ligne 2 Perfect Ping? Same body and flame. The Perfect Ping is built for the note and comes in matte lacquer; this one is built for the pattern and comes in plated brass. Both ring; the Perfect Ping rings louder.
What fuel does it take? The maison specifies its yellow gas refill (ref. 000432) for the Ligne 2 and its black flints (ref. 000600). The black refill is for the torch models. It ships empty, as every lighter we sell does.
Can the warranty be extended? Yes. S.T. Dupont issues a two-year warranty card, and activating the Digital Passport — the QR code that ships with a French-made piece carrying a serial number — adds six months, counted from the purchase date rather than the activation date.

Barrister & Bespoke Curated Collection — hand-selected from S.T. Dupont, the Paris maison that has made leather cases since 1872 and lighters since 1941, for its craftsmanship and fit within our world. Curated pieces carry their maker's own identity rather than ours; our house collection, designed and branded exclusively for Barrister & Bespoke, is marked separately throughout the shop.
Why we carry it. S.T. Dupont began where we did. Simon Tissot-Dupont opened a Paris workshop in 1872 making document cases, briefcases, and travel trunks for diplomats and businessmen — objects whose quality lived in hinges, locks, frames, and fittings. The lighter, four decades on, was the same discipline applied to a smaller object. The workshop has been at Faverges in the Haute-Savoie since 1924, took in its first master lacquerer in 1935, and holds the French state's Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant designation for living heritage craft. We sell leather cases for a living. So did they, first.
Warranty. This Product carries S.T. Dupont's two-year warranty against manufacturing defects, and Barrister & Bespoke's own Thirty-Day Assurance for the first thirty days after delivery. Lighters ship unfueled. Full terms, including how to make a claim, are stated in our Warranty Policy.
Returns. A lighter may be returned within thirty days if it is unused and in its original packaging. Every lighter ships unfueled; once butane has been added it is Final Sale and cannot be returned or exchanged, except where it arrives damaged, defective, or materially different from its description. Full terms are in our Returns & Exchanges Policy.
