This one is digital, which eliminates the mechanical drift that plagues analog faces, and it carries a built-in calibration adjustment so you can verify it against the salt test before you trust it with anything.

The target reading is 65% to 72% relative humidity at 65–70°F. If yours reads outside that band, the humidifier needs recharging before the reading needs questioning — but only if the gauge has been calibrated first.
