The whole kit in one zippered case. The Xikar Sentinel carries up to five cigars at 60 ring gauge in its main pocket, with a pocket each for the cutter and the lighter, three card slots and a leather loop for a pen — so the trip three states from home for a deposition, or the evening after a closing, needs one object rather than four.

It is built structured rather than soft: black pebbled leather with a tan suede accent panel, suede-lined inside, a zipper that runs around three sides, and a leather carry handle along the spine. Zipped, it goes into a briefcase or a carry-on as easily as it sits on a club table.

Built for carrying, not keeping. It is a case, not a humidor — it holds cigars for the day or the trip, not for the season. Questions we get

How many cigars will it hold? Up to five at 60 ring gauge in the main pocket. Xikar does not publish a maximum length; if you carry long cigars, ask us before you order and we will measure one.

Will it keep cigars fresh? For the day or the trip. It is a carry case, not a humidor, and has no humidification. For a weekend away, a travel humidor such as the Manhattan is the better tool.

What goes in the other pockets? A pocket cutter and a lighter in the two small pockets, business or credit cards in the three card slots, and a pen in the leather loop. Measure a bulky tabletop-style lighter against it before planning to carry one.

Can I fly with it? The case, yes. A torch lighter inside it, no — torch lighters are prohibited in both carry-on and checked baggage, and a confiscated lighter is not covered by the warranty.

Is it covered by Xikar's lifetime warranty? Yes. Xikar's limited lifetime warranty lists travel cases alongside its cutters and lighters. Normal wear is excluded, which for leather means scuffs and the patina of use.

Why we carry it. Most of what a maker claims about quality cannot be checked before you buy. A warranty can. Xikar covers these pieces for life against manufacturing defects, with no registration and no receipt required, and states plainly that it may return a refurbished equivalent rather than a new one. That is a commitment written down and honored by a named distributor, rather than a claim about craftsmanship you would have to take on faith. We curate Xikar on that.

Warranty. Covered by Xikar's limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, and by Barrister & Bespoke's own Thirty-Day Assurance for the first thirty days after delivery. After that, claims are handled directly by Quality Importers, Xikar's distributor — no registration or receipt required. Normal wear, misuse, and tampering are excluded.
