Xceed V-Cut & Punch Cigar Cutter — Black

Price$46.80

The Xceed is a black cigar cutter from XoticEdge with a stainless steel V-cut guillotine and two screw-off bullet punches: three ways to open a cigar in one round instrument, for lawyers who would rather not carry three cutters. A push-button spring releases the guillotine's 23mm V-cut; unscrew either knurled knob at the sides and you have an 8mm or a 10mm bullet punch instead. The blade locks shut when you squeeze it closed, so it travels safely next to a set of keys.

The body is solid black-finished metal, 2-1/2" in diameter and .6" thick closed, 3-1/2" end to end with the guillotine open, and weighs 116 grams — enough heft to sit flat in a palm rather than float. The V-cut blade itself is stainless steel.

  • Finish: black, XoticEdge etched on the face
  • Dimensions: 2-1/2" diameter x .6" thick closed (3-1/2" L open)
  • Weight: 116 grams

Cigars shown in some photos are for illustration only and not included — your own selections have surely already rested their case.

On the cut. In A Cigar, Counselor? we take the position that a clean cut matters more than a costly cigar. The Xceed is the one instrument in the case that will not force that choice: a V-cut for the cigar that wants a wedge opened into the cap, a narrow 8mm punch for a firm draw, or a wider 10mm punch for more air — decided at the moment, not at the humidor. Where the XhaleX commits to a wing cut and the Xikar Xi1 commits to a straight guillotine, the Xceed keeps the question open. What it gives up is a single dedicated purpose — a guillotine built only to guillotine will always cut a cleaner cap than one blade among three functions.

Questions we get

Which cut should I use? The V-cut opens a wedge into the cap and draws well on most cigars. The punches leave the cap otherwise intact and narrow the draw — 8mm for a tighter pull, 10mm for more air, useful on cigars prone to unraveling if fully cut.

Will it open in a pocket? No. The guillotine is spring-loaded to open at the push-button but locks when squeezed shut, and the punches are threaded on and stay put until you unscrew them.

What's the blade made of? The V-cut guillotine blade is stainless steel. Prestige does not publish a grade or hardness for it, and we do not imply one.

How big is it? 2-1/2" across and .6" thick closed, about 3-1/2" long with the guillotine open. At 116 grams it has real weight in the hand without being bulky in a pocket.

Is it a good gift for a colleague who smokes cigars? It is the safe choice when you do not know how the recipient cuts, because the V-cut and both punches are in the one instrument, and it arrives in its gift box. That makes it a sensible closing gift for a deal team that ends the night with a cigar.
